Online Personal Training

Nova online personal training follows the same systems as our face-to-face personal training, the only difference is your session is coached virtually. The core components of your program will always be individualized training that meets your needs, wants and abilities.

Designed for those who want to workout on their own but desire a tailored program to meet their goals. This option is ideal for those with a home gym or who travel frequently.

  • I don't have a lot of equipment at home, can I still get a good workout with Online Training?

    Yes! Our coaches have a combined 46 years of experience. They can train you in any space, not matter how small, utilizing the equipment you have on hand... or none at all!  

  • Why should I choose one-on-one training when there are less expensive or free options available?

    INDIVIDUALIZATION

    To give you the best Nova experience, each personal training journey begins with a health consultation in person or over the phone. The objective of this discovery session is to learn about your goals and to formulate a plan that fits your lifestyle. A comprehensive consultation will center around your goals, current health, injury and exercise history. The core components of your program will always be individualized training that meets your needs, wants and abilities.  


    PROPER TECHNIQUE & FORM

    Exercise videos are great for some people but it is definitely not a substitute for having a person watching you and providing you immediate feedback on form and technique. Too often we have seen people injure themselves at the gym or in group classes where it’s easy to get caught up in ‘competing’ with others and forgoing form for pace. Our coaches will watch and cue you every step of the way which not only prevents injuries but will help you achieve your goals more quickly because they are ensuring you are doing each movement correctly.  


    ROTATIONAL COACHING 

    At Nova, if you train more than one time a week, you train with two different coaches. Think of it like having two doctors collaborating in your best interest - still following the same program but each bringing their unique perspective and personality to your sessions.


    PROGRESS TRACKING

    Soon after starting you will establish a fitness benchmark. This is a time to see strengths and weaknesses in your fitness. This profile is designed to evaluate your body composition (muscle and fat mass), cardiovascular fitness, agility, core and muscular strength. In order to hold you and us accountable, we re-evaluate your progress every three months.


    SAVE YOU TIME

    We hear this from many of our members – we save you time. We develop a program that is efficient and allows you to get the most out of your work out. 

  • What can I expect during my first session?

    Your first session will be a phone call or Zoom call with a coach from Nova for a health consultation. The objective of this discovery session is to learn about your goals and to formulate a plan that fits your lifestyle. A comprehensive consultation will center around your goals, current health, injury, and exercise history.  


    After the health consultation, your first workout will be an Initial Assessment. This is not fitness testing but rather an opportunity to see how your body moves. While we appreciate your goals and needs from the consultation, the assessment allows us to have a closer look at your movement patterns. 



  • What is functional movement?

    Functional movement is a broadly used term to describe trained movement patterns that are ideal for a specific person, and meet their daily movement needs. Because movement needs are different between individuals, functional movement training can describe a number of different training styles. For example, a basketball player would have different movement needs than a swimmer, and a teenage athlete would have different movement needs than a 60 year old retiree. 


    At the same time a large percentage of people have similar movement needs, such as walking up stairs, and lifting or moving things throughout their day. Ultimately, functional movement is only “functional” if the trained movements are specific to enhancing the performance and resilience of the individuals movement needs.

  • How much time do I need to train?

    We offer personal training sessions in 30 minute and 60 minute sessions. In order to benefit fromt he 30 minute sessions we ask you to come early and fully warm-up before your start time.

  • Are you open to the public or just residents of the building?

    We are open to everyone! 

  • How do I connect with my coach for online sessions?

    We use software that utilizes Zoom.  You will sign up for an account and when any online session is scheduled, you will receive a secure Zoom link accessible to you and your coach. 

  • When can I schedule my workouts?

    You will be given weekly recurring times for your sessions (referred to as your "Master Times"). 


    Think of it as a weekly appointment for your workout. But don't worry, if something comes up and you can't make your weekly Master Time we're always happy to find you a spot that works with your schedule.  

  • Do you offer nutritional help?

    Yes! Nutrition combined with regular exercise is the most effective way to reach your health and fitness goals. Every good meal is an investment in; how you feel in the short term, how you look in the mid term and your health in the long term. 


    How online nutrition coaching works:


    INDIVIDUAL COMMUNICATION

    Phone and email are the primary tools of communication but video calls can also be scheduled. 


    FOOD TRACKING

    We will teach you how to use a trusted food tracking app so that we can see your nutrition habits and provide feedback in real time.


    ACCOUNTABILITY

    The key to your success in nutrition is establishing clear goals and knowing that your coach will be there to support you along the way.


    SUSTAINABILITY

    Nutrition should not be all or nothing. We will help you make sustainable changes that are realistic for you to accomplish and maintain long-term.

     

    BONUS

    All online personal training members receive 50% of their monthly nutrition coaching for the first month.

  • Do I need to sign a long-term contract?

    No.  We invoice on a monthly-to-month basis and you can cancel at any time. 

  • What if I have to cancel my session?

    There is a minimum 24-hour cancellation notice for any workout session Monday through Friday and Saturday before 1:00 pm. Please note that because we are closed on  Sundays, this is not considered a business day. Therefore cancellations made on Sunday for Monday will result in a late cancel. No-shows, late cancellations or schedule change with less than 24hrs notice will be charged the full amount for the missed session.
