Super Nova of The Month: Nicole Stuart
Congratulations to Nicole Stuart,
Our August 2026 SuperNova!

Since joining Nova, Nicole has put in real effort and brought a lot of positive energy to our community. At 55, stepping into weightlifting to keep up with her kids was a brand-new challenge, and she’s tackled it head-on.
👉 Read on to get inspired by Nicole's journey, and how it all began just a few months ago at Nova Health Club.

Her Journey
What first inspired you to prioritize your health and fitness?
"Turning 55 made me realize that I didn't just want to age, I wanted to age well. I wanted to feel strong, energetic, and capable for the years ahead. I want to keep up with my older kids who are very active. After being away from a gym for more than 10 years, I knew it was time to invest in myself and make my health a priority again."
Looking back, what's one moment where you realized your hard work was paying off?
"I remember carrying something heavy at home and realizing how much easier it felt than it used to. It wasn't a dramatic moment, but it hit me that the strength I was building in the gym was showing up in my everyday life. That's when I knew the hard work was paying off."
Lifestyle
What's one healthy habit you couldn't imagine living without now?
"Regular strength training. When I started, lifting weights was completely outside my comfort zone, but now it's become part of my routine. I love how it makes me feel, both physically and mentally!"
How has improving your health impacted other areas of your life, such as work, family, or hobbies?
"I've noticed a difference in my energy and physical confidence. At work, I feel more focused and resilient. I’m paddling for the first time and it’s gotten easier as my strength has improved. I feel more confident with my body. I’m doing activities with my kids and not feeling tired. Overall, I feel healthier and ready to take on whatever comes my way."

Nova Experience
What makes Nova different from other fitness experiences you've had?
"The sense of community and support. Walking into a regular gym after more than 20 years away would be intimidating, but Nova feels much better than the big box gyms. Everyone is welcoming and supportive. Loved the pickle ball event because it was a great opportunity to meet other members and coaches."
Is there a coach or member who has made a lasting impact on your journey?
"My coach, Tom, understands where I am, celebrates my progress, and genuinely wants to see me succeed.
All of the coaches are ready with a smile, a tip, or a word of encouragement. Tom’s support helped me believe I could do things I never thought possible, especially as someone new to lifting weights."

Personal Reflection
What's something you're proud of that has nothing to do with the number on the scale or how much you can lift?
"I'm proud that I showed up and stuck with it. Starting something new at 55 and stepping back into a gym after such a long time took courage. Staying consistent, even when I felt tired or unsure, is something I'm incredibly proud of!"
If someone was nervous about walking through Nova's doors for the first time, what would you tell them?
"I would tell them that everyone starts somewhere, and there is absolutely no judgment. You don't need to be fit, strong, or know what you're doing before you come in. The coaches will support you every step of the way. Just walk through the door. You'll be glad you did."

-----
Nicole brings a perspective many of us can relate to. She shows how having a meaningful reason to stay active - like keeping up with your kids- makes it easier to stay committed, even when starting something new feels intimidating. Stepping out of your comfort zone at 55 isn't simple, but pushing through the initial discomfort builds a stronger sense of confidence to keep going. Her story is a great reminder that it’s never too late to take on new challenges, as long as you stay patient with yourself and clear on your "WHY."
